painful intercourse and LupronFrom: Susan (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 29 Sep 1997 10:43:24 -0500 (CDT)
I have taken two shots of Lupron, with my third shot coming up next week. I have a posterior fibroid and a tipped uterus. I am taking the Lupron for severe anemia and to shrink the fibroid before having a myomectomy. For the first time in about 12 years, I attempted intercourse, but found it to be extremely painful, a burning, raw pain. Could this be from 12 years of celibacy, or the vaginal dryness side effect from the Lupron? Or could it be from the tipped uterus? I'm very concerned. This never happened when I was sexually active before. Will this continue, or will it stop after the side effects of Lupron wear off, or after the surgery? What exactly is vaginal dryness? My time on Lupron so far has been okay. I actually feel much better. Any assistance you could give would be helpful.
