Questions?From: Tammy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 25 Sep 1997 11:30:14 -0500 (CDT)
I had posted before about a high protein level on a 24 hr urine (620 @ 13 week preg). And have done some research on my own and was wondering if prior kidney infections can affect the kidney level and the amount of protein allowed to flow out. My creatine is normal all other blood tests done for preg were normal, including a neg protein at every visit, there were no casts present or whatever normal is to indicate damage. When I was a child I had several UTI, and a few kidney infections. I also had several bouts of strep throat which I have read can cause a glomer"something" infection. I also had severe pre-eclapsia with my preg which was allowed to go on for 6 weeks after I started having severe signs which I have read can cause kidney damage. Which brings me to questions can 620 be my baseline and not indicate anything, can anything for my past cause the high numbers? Is it possible that the reading could have been false? Thanks!
