Depending upon your test results, there may be no preventative treatment possible. If an increased risk of pelvic thrombophlebitis is deemed possible, low dose heparin can be used daily.

Septic means infected. This onlyhappens when there is an active infection.

I can undrstand why you would be scared. Discuss the heparin with your physician to get his/her feelings about this.
