Marchbein, M.D.: "Re: Discharge before period" I have been getting a brownish colored discharge approximately one week before my period for awhile. I am not using any birth control and I am not taking any medication. I had a pap smear in May, 1997 and the results came back normal but showed some inflammation. I went to another doctor in August, 1997 and was given Metronidazole and was told the discharge was O.K. or not unusual. Should I be concerned or is this normal for some people?
