Information request - LEEP procedureFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netFri, 19 Sep 1997 20:38:04 -0500
I had a LEEP procedure June '97 for abnormal cells from my pap smears. This was after having been cauterized, and several cervical biopises, and numerous creames and antibiotics. I then had a check-up in July and was told the healing process was progressing. Since then my periods and/or "bleeding" has increased through-out the month. I bleed from 10 to 14 days monthly since July. The bleeding begins on the 16th day of my cycle and then 5 to 6 days later I begin a menstural cycle for 2 to 5 days with cramping and clotting. Then I will bleed for 2 to 3 more days. After contacting my doctor, August, I was told to use triple sulfur creame. Then in September after the cream I started the bleeding. I contacted the doctor again when I began spotting/bleeding during my ovulation. My doctor has now prescribed medrosyprogresterone for me to take for 12 days. He is considering a Suction/Endometrois Biospy if this doesn't work. Is this the course action I should be considering? Should I consider consulting another physician and if so can you provide me with a suggested list in the Atlanta area? PChandler gchandlr@mindspring.com
