Kim, You got me! My most likely diagnosis was going to be a Nabothian cyst .... a painless, smooth bump on the cervix that is benign. My only confusion is that they don't come and go.

BTW, a pap smear can't do anything to your cervix except occasionally stain for a short period of time afterwards.
