Hi Sherry,

I attempted to email you off forum but had no luck with your email address.

My concern is that my mom does live alone >in Huntsville - she has a "friend" that is very attentive and will be there for her.

This is Great...

I can go down on Fridays and take her to and from Chemo treatments - stay the weekend with but more than likely will have to be back at work on Monday. My family can take turns making the trip.

This is a real good idea, this way no-one has to do it all.

She wants to stay in her own bed >her own space -

Then that is where she should be. Remember, Moms know best!

>I memtioned that I would pay for a nurse to watch out for >her needs if she was so adament about staying in >Huntsville.

I don't think she wil need nursing care, just someone to be there and maybe fix a meal or two.

>My sister in law and brother living here want
>my mom to stay with them so Sharon (my sis-in-law) who >doesn't work can take care of her. AS you can see my >concern is that she is in Huntsville without immediatly >family but with lots of loving friends.

Believe me when I tell you your Mother should be where She wants to be, Not where other people want her to be...

>Once she begins treatment doesn't she need to finish out >that treatment with that paticular doctor ?

What I ment is: your mother Can Choose to have her radiation treatments in your hometown If that is what she wants to do. I am sure if she speaks to her doctors it can be arranged.

Last question.. >where can I check on her physician's background ..

I suggest you trust your mothers feeelings on this one. Perhaps you could go to her Oncologists visit and meet with him/her. Then you will feel more comfortable because being so far away is difficult for you. My daughter went with me for moral support ... There are lots of very good links about breast cancer in our CONDITIONS section on the Home Page. Look under cancer and you'll find them. We added two New ones today. >
>Thanks so much

Your welcome Love to you both, Barbara >
>Love back !!! Sherry
