uterine fibroids

I have large uterine fibroids. I have no symptons but a very enlarged uterus and some sonograms indicate mild hydronephrosis. I'm 50 and have been hoping menupause would shrink my fibroids, but I'm still menstrating regularly. I want to keep my uterus and would like to find out about alternative therapies. Aside from not wanting major surgery, I've been told that with a large fibroid, a myomectomy is problematic and that I would risk losing my uterus. I was interested in embolization to cut the blood supply to the uterus and also someone told me there is now laser surgery to do the same thing. Is there a safe method relatively noninvasive method of reducing firbrod size. Who is doing it and where? I've been using Chinese medicine and acupuncture to try to keep the fibroid from growing, but am uncomfortable taking medicine which haven't gone through Western testing.
