I need some expert advise on a very serious situation. I have been on Zanax .25mg & .5mg to help control my anxiety and bulimia for five years. I have now begun cutting the .25mg in half. This was the drug regimen I was put on after being hospitalized for the bulimia. My problem is this: I begin ovulation shots in two weeks. I know that you are not suppose to take Xanax while pregnant. I had no idea how unbearable it would be to come off this drug. I am so physically sick, I am unable to function. I am at a loss and don't know what to do. Even if I stopped taking the drug, I still need something to help me cope with the terrible anxiety I have that starts the bulimia in motion. Does anyone know the harmful affects of Zanax and what I could possibly use in its place to get me through this unbearable time? I have tried a list full of anti-depressants, but to no avail.
