Tests for recurrent miscarriageFrom: Antonia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 4 Sep 1997 07:35:12 -0500 (CDT)
After trying to get pregnant for 18 months I took clomid and got pregnat in 3th cycle (Feb 1996), but I had a miscarriage at 11 weeks. In January 97 I got pregnant again (4th cycle of clomid). This pregnancy seemed to go well. I had an US every month and the only strange thing was the baby appeared to be about two weeks smaller for LMP date since the first US, but the doctor said the rate of growth was rigth. I was always concerned because she didn't move very much. In my last appoinment (6 August) (34 weeks) the doctor couldn't see the heart beat in US. Two days later she born died. She died about two weeks before. Now, the only thing I can do is to look for information. I don't want to try again without to test for the causes of losses. I have been reading about antiphospholipids antibodies, antinuclear antibodies, NK cells, DQ alpha sharing, etc. I have read also that many doctors don't believe in the influence of some of these (NK cells, DQ alpha) and treatments such as LIT, IVIG, etc. What do you think about this? What tests do you think I must do? Sorry about my English. I speak Spanish. Thanks.
