Hi Tracey I'm sorry to hear about your s.i.l."s bout with cancer. I had the misfortune of having breast cancer last April and I agree with you that good nutrition is Very important during And after Chemo. I'll leave the medical stuff to the docs and just try and help a little as a person that has walked in her shoes. I strongly advise a balanced diet full of all the good vitimens and minerals we all need every day, But and the big But is: Some-times you are just too sick or too tired to be able to do this. On the advice of my physicians I took and am stil taking Antioxidants. There purpose is to protect cells, DNA (the big word here) fats and cholesterol. I bought mine at a health food store. They are full of all the "Good" things we need to build up our body and help us fight cancer. It is not always possible to get all the foods we need during this most difficult so encourage her to eat whatever it is that goes down easy and tastes good. My all-time faviote was ice-cream! Lots of fluids to wash that chemo out after it has done its work and lots of rest. Some-times less is best during this time. I know you are worried and afraid and only wish her the best but try to encourage her to "just eat something" and always continue to let her know you are There for her! You are a great sister-in-law. Good luck to all of you. Tell her hello for me and tell her "the hair Does grow back, and there is a Great life after Chemo". Okay gals let's help our sister. Love, Barbara
