When to do a hysteroscopy

Almost two months ago I had a tube removed because of an ectopic pregnancy. Since then I kept on feeling 'pregnant' As it turned out my HCG was only very slowly coming down. Five weeks after the surgery it was still 276 and now, seven weeks after surgery it is still too high: 56. Strange is also that I did have a menstrual bleeding two weeks ago! My Ob.Gyn wants to keep monitoring my HCG until it is below 5. She also wants me to have a hysteroscopy. She thinks I should wait until my HCG levels are back to normal, because my cycle is not very reliable now. I would like to have the hysteroscopy as soon as possible. Can anyone tell me if the outcome now would be any different then when my HCG-levels have dropped?
