Uterus FibroidFrom: Loh (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 27 Aug 1997 11:31:44 -0500
I am 28 years old and married for only 6 months. We plan to have our first child after 2 years. A fortnight ago I had pains at my lower abdominal and my doctor found a fibroid the size of about 4.42cm above my uterus. My doctor advise was to have a child as soon as possible then have it removed or remove it then have a child as soon as possible. Though my doctor says that the pain i am experiencing has nothing to do with the fibroid but the pain still remains since beginning of this month. Is the fibroid causing the pain? We have now taken the decision to monitor the fibroid periodically. If the fibroid is growing fast, what is the chances that it is cancerous? If the fibroid had grown too big, what are the options of treatment other then myomectomy? What are the chances of the other treatment (like holistic treatment) to reduce the size or to control the growth? Thank you. Signed, Vivian Josephine
