Miscarriages

Old news: I have had four miscarriages and one live birth. The live birth was the second in the series. I have also spent a good long time in infertility treatments--one miscarriage was a GIFT pregnancy, and another from ICSI. We think we are done, but I we are still "resolving" the situation as it comes up daily.

We've also done the immune workups with several docs. I should qualify that by saying that we've moved cross-country three times in the midst of all this fun.

My APA testing--

was low positive at Long Beach Memorial (while pregnant)

was moderately positive Cardiolipin IgG at Univ. of Utah (once while pregnant and again 3.5 months post IUFD)

negative with one borderline, Cardiolipin IgA, on the panel of 18 at Dr. Beer's in Chicago (both early pregnant and non-pregnant)

negative while pregnant with a blighted ovum (tests sent from military hospital to Corning Labs)

negative at St. Barnabas (NJ), 21 markers, non-pregnant

Following the Utah testing I spoke with Branch and Scott who felt that I met the criteria for aspirin and heparin therapy (IgG positive, and we had positive cardiac activity after 12 weeks, with the fetal demise post 14 weeks).

I tend to "believe" the Utah testing more than the others, partly because their research is so well accepted, and partly because I want to believe there was a reason for the IUFD.

So, where's the question in all of this? Mostly for Dr. Shanahan who has gone through some of this testing.....how did you decide where to test? And, did you do any of the NK testing (generally thought of as the Beer or Coulam testing)?
