Post Endometrial Ablation PainFrom: Karen (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 31 Jul 1997 19:37:34 -0500 (CDT)
Well, I had my ablation done 7/28. My doctor was pleased with the suppression of my endometrium after the Lupron. Preoperatively I was assured that there would be no pain involved with this procedure. <maybe some cramping> When I awoke in the recovery room, I was experiencing severe, stabbing pain throughout my entire abdomen. It became so intense that I began vomiting. I required Demerol/Vistaril IM to relieve the discomfort. I still am experiencing tenderness in my abdomen along with right shoulder pain. My doctor told me that I was weird! That may be true, but what would cause this type of pain? I do believe she said that there was a 1000cc deficit between the inflow and outflow solution used. Would this account for the pain? Thanks in advance for any insight. I for one feel this forum is a great source of information. Karen.
