Hi,

We've received word from about a half a dozen folks who have said they would try to make the 9-10PM EDT (2AM GMT) slot most days and a few who said they could do the 9-10AM EDT (2PM GMT) slot most days.

The chat area is always open to use but it is a lot more fun if more then one person is there! We will try to be at the 9-10AM EDT slot coming from the FIGO booth in Copenhagen with the latest talk next Monday through Friday! If you are at FIGO and come by the Zeneca Pharmaceuticals booth you are welcome to use one of the workstations to do some chatting too.

A personal note, we received your comments and will be working hard once FIGO is done in later August to improve the chat documentation, tips&tricks and technology. We will move chat to a new server later that month and upgrade the software to the vary latest version. ichat is coming out with new client plugin versions of the software in September which should make things better too.

In the meanwhile keep in mind:

1) The plugin provides a nice interface but you can run without it, if you are running Netscape or Microsoft Internet Explorer try the JAVA Lite client or in all cases you can always run the HTML Web forms version no matter what, which is quite usable even with the AOL browser! You may select which interface to use at the time of login, default is the plugin but you can choose Java Lite or HTML Web forms.

2) A very common mistake people make is that they select the plugin to download but then do not double-click on the plugin they just selected to install it. It is a 2 step process. The download provides you the installation ichat plugin package but you have to execute that package to actually install and configure the plugin. Else, Netscape will complain that the plugin was not installed even though you did step 1 the download. ichat has written detailed documentation on how to correctly install the plugins - please look at it if you have any problems and it probably will have the answer you need.
