endo/medical managementFrom: Joanne (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 29 Jul 1997 19:47:50 -0400
Hi everyone. My sister who is 45 years old, had a laparoscopy today. She was diagnosed with stage I endo. It is located in the cul de sac. Though I do not agree, her gyn, decided at her age, to medically treat the endo, rather than surgically remove it. Lupron has been mentioned. I was under the impression, that Lupron only shrinks endo, doesn't destroy it. If that's the case, how would this treatment work, as it would seem my sister is several years away from menopause. Continuous BCP's might also be considered. How does that work, when menopause approaches? Same thing with depo provera? How would you know, when menopause is reached? Thanks.
