Sorry .......missed the question on endometrial ablation.

This is a procedure done with a hysteroscope going through the vagina and the cervix into the uterus (no incisions) and the lining of the uterus is cauterized (burned) to destroy the tissue causing the bleeding. Common statistics quoted are : 50% of patients stop bleeding totally, 30% are better , and 20% will need a second procedure, and if that fails, a hysterectomy.
