Dear Doctors,

Hello! I got back from my trip and my OBGYN appt on monday night and like an idiot had a zillion questions when I left the office. The minute he came in and asked me how I felt, I crumbled like a cookie and poored my heart out. I was a blubbering idiot. Luckily he was very consoling and wanted to try a hysterosalpingogram for the next cycle. Of course I forgot to ask him all the important questions...nothing like a good cry to make you forget all reason! So here goes:

How long should it take?

Will it hurt? I am the BIGGEST wimp...

Will I be able to go by myself, ie drive, etc?

Will there be any strange discharge after or any other side effects of the dye?

If there is no obstruction and we move on from here, how soon after the test will I get my period---right on schedule?

Finally what EXACTLY do they do, procedure wise?
