Re: now another questionFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netTue, 22 Jul 1997 14:55:58 -0400 (EDT)
In a message dated 97-07-21 15:05:49 EDT, you write:
<< I took care of her Friday night (while her husband rested) and something
that really concerned me was that her memory was almost non-existent.
She'd ask me something and then an hour later, she'd ask me again as
though the question had JUST occured to her. Somethings she sort of
remembered asking me, she just couldn't remember the answers. She did
this with several things and all night! Will her memory get any better?
>> Tisha, Forgive me if I'm way off base here, but was this relatively shortly after her surgery? If so, this may be a problem with the anesthesia. My mom recently had triple bypass surgery and had a reaction to the anesthesia. It was two days afterwards before she was finally back to normal. For awhile it was pretty scary seeing a different person in her body! She was disoriented, especially with time, and would ask a lot of questions. Other times she was totally lucid. Once the anesthesia finally wore off, she was perfectly fine and back to normal. It's a difficult place to be while it's happening, though. Hopefully your friend is fine now.
