Early foetal heart detection on u/sFrom: Ann (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 11 Jul 1997 15:51:15 -0500 (CDT)
Hi there .... short history ... I'm 30 yo, 5th pregnancy 6/40 + 2/7 by LMP (not 100% certain of dates but there or thereabouts) .... vaginal bleeding ... little ... but present .... sooooo off to the hospital where they did an u/s ... gestational sac visible but no f/h .... scheduled a transvaginal u/s in 7/7 . FWIW previous pregnancies were relatively uneventful 1st pregnancy - PROM delivered SVD @ 34/40 Male 3090g 2nd pg - delivered SVD at 40/40 Female 4224g 3rd pg - delivered SVD at 42/40 Female 4253g 4th pg - placenta praevia, APH x 2, SROM & delivered at 40/40 Male 4510g, & PPH okay maybe not so uneventful !!! :) Three questions ... 1) How early would one expect to see foetal heart on u/s 2) What IS a trans vaginal u/s & why is it used 3) Why trans-vaginal u/s next week & not just same ol' same 'ol ? Thanks in anticipation
