ammenoreha because of bulimia...how to regain health?From: Elizabeth (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 10 Jul 1997 11:27:19 -0500 (CDT)
Here's my dilema: A few months ago, I decided to go off of the Pill. Around that time, however, I started a pattern of behavior that I have since learned is Bulimic...this was in conjunction with severe depression and all around poor health. I went from 140lbs in March to my current weight of 115lbs. I am seeing several doctors, (my physician and psychiatrist are working together with my therapist)and they have put me on Prozac. I'm working on the eating--the Prozac brings my natural common sense to the surface, so I now relapse into binging and purging only about once a week. Now I am enthusiastically persuing a strictly vegan diet, as this is something I can control, and the Prozac in conjunction with the diet have me on an even keel, bulimia-wise. BUT I AM IN NEED OF ADVICE! Immediatly after going off the Pill, I ceased menstruation, and it has now been 5 months, and there's no red light at the end of this tunnel! Are there vitamins, herbal remedies, excercizes etc. that could help me regain my period? I would like to be healthy again; this is UNNATURAL! Please advise, thanks.
