B.C. Pills and Water RetentionFrom: Anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 9 Jul 1997 16:28:31 -0500 (CDT)
My physician has suggested that I use Ortho-Tricyclen (please excuse the incorrect spelling) as my form of birth control. (I have tried some other B.C. pills:such as Progesterone, and I was experiencing some kidney and bladder infections because of it). I have been on Ortho-Tricyclen for 2 months and I have noticed quite a bit of water retention. On top of all that, I have a constipation problem, so my physician has me taking fiber-suppliments and I have to drink at least 32 oz. of water a day. Well, I follow this high-fiber diet very well (and I must say that I am a much happy person now because of it), but with the B.C. pills making me retane water I am feeling much like the Pillsbury Dough Boy. My skin has an almost slightly swollen look to it and I am only urinating once, maybe twice a day. Can you suggest anything for me to do? Are there any vitamins, foods, pills that can help me lose this water weight? Your help is greatly appreciated.
