Marchbein, M.D.: "Re: Fibroid laproscopy" Hello, I am a 33 year old woman with a large (8cm and growing slowly but steadily) subserous pedunculated fibroid. My doctor has recommended laproscopic surgery to cut the fiboid off (it's outside my uterus), cut it into smaller pieces and remove the pieces vaginally. Has anyone ever had surgery like this? Both doctors I have seen suggested that I take Lupron for 2 months in order to shrink the fibroid, although they say this is not necessary and I could in effect have the surgery this week if I wanted. I am also curious if anyone out there has tried acupuncture and/or Chinese herbs to shrink fibroids as I would prefer to try this before taking a month long hormone shot.
