Meningitis and pregnancy

My husband and I are actively trying to get pregnant. I may already be, I won't know until the end of this week. Here's our situation and question: My husband is a social worker at an emergency children's shelter. One of the kids he takes care of has viral Meningitis. Do I have to be petrified now that it will be transfered to me and possibly a forming fetus??? Are there any steps that I can take to protect myself, short of banning my husband from the house????

Thank you, Tisha tadams@mkprod.com
