A Second Opinion? Multiple Fibroids

Hi,

Yesterday I was diagnosed to have multiple fibroids thru a scan - 3 fibroids about 4 cm diameter and some smaller ones. My gynae has told to go for a total hysterectomy ASAP. I have 2 children, aged 10 and 12. I am 38 years old. I have been experiencing terrible menstrual cramps for the last 4-5 months. Do you think I need to see another gynae about the surgery? Are there any drugs which I can take instead of resorting to surgery which I am so terrified of?

Thank you for your kind attention. Please reply asap.

Thanks again. Fiona
