Loriann, I was seeing a chiropractor regularly before I got pregnant and I continued to do so throughout my pregnancy. It made a world of difference and I think it is why I felt as good as I did, even when I was HUGE (gave birth to a 9 lb 10 oz boy!). I never really brought it up with my OB, but I must say there were a lot of pregnant women there! Chiropractors take extra precautions when you're pregnant to make it safe and when you are no longer comfortable lying on the table they use a slant board so that your stomach hangs freely over it with no pressure on your abdomen. It helped tremendously with the headaches I sometimes got (like you Tylenol did me no good) and helped keep my back in alignment and my pelvis straight. Everything tends to loosen up during pregnancy, which is why you are more prone to throwing your back out now and also why it will be easier to correct! Personal opinion: talk to your chiropractor and see if he/she is comfortable treating someone who is pregnant and if so, take advantage of the service so you can correct the back problem. Otherwise, you may be setting yourself up for more back pain as your pregnancy progresses. I saw mine right up till the last week of pregnancy and had no problems whatsoever. Good luck with your back AND your pregnancy! :-)
