Infertility Closure?

I just had a failed IVF/ICSI (my 4th ART, 2nd ART failure, the successes ended in miscarriage) and this is the conclusion of our 4 year secondary infertility journey (following a 2-3 year primary infertility journey). Now at 37, I guess this leaves me as a G5P1 for life.

Due to my husband's military career, we've moved three times during the quest-for-parenthood journey, so I no longer see some of the docs who were the best. From time to time, I think about writing letters to the great OB who delivered my 5 year old, the MFM who care for me during the second trimester loss, and the RE who did a great operative hysteroscopy/polypectomy resolving what had been an annoying and possibly IUI-like three-year bleeding/spotting saga.

I wonder how strange it would be to get a thank you letter from an old patient. Would they even remember me? Those "caregivers" played such an important role in my journey, but would they find it odd to get the end of the story update?

Any thoughts?

Luanne
