ProgesteroneFrom: Vivian (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 29 Jun 1997 09:15:10 -0500 (CDT)
My dr. gave me progesterone pills to take for ten days because of spotting, followed by heavy bleeding (total # of days-14.) The bleeding has stopped, but I am wondering about the side-effects. In April, the dr. gave me the same treatment and in May I had a D&C (along with a laporotomy to remove adhesions and scar tissue.) Since the surgery, I have had bleeding twice (for 7 days; then for 14.) When I took the progesterone in April, I noticed some a few bruises on my legs, but did not recall getting hurt. I forgot all about them, and they disappeared. Well, I now have found several unexplained bruises on my legs again and am not sure what to make of them (I am sure I did not bump into anything!). I am concerned, but don't know if I should be. My family practitioner ran a complete blood work-up a couple of weeks because I am still anemic from surgery. Other than being anemic he said everything else was fine. (I am taking chromagen 3x a day.) Can these bruises have anything to do with the progesterone pills? Thank you for taking the time to read this!
