HPVFrom: MaryG (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 27 Jun 1997 15:32:12 -0500 (CDT)
Are all "condylomatus atypia" findings on a colposcopy Human Papilloma Virus? If not, what else is needed to make a diagnosis. This is a young patient, early twenties, has had several colpo.s over the years and only one showed codyle projections. She has had one well baby. No other pregnancies. She was told she needed a panhysterectomy with a BSO because an ultra sound showed areas suspicious of small fibroids in uterine wall, a "history of HPV", and class three Pap one time a year prior to the pregnancy which the path report showed it was a class 2 without dysplasia. The path report on the uturus following removal showed no fibroids. I'd like to know if there is a more difinitive dx for HPV and does it always have to wind up a hysterectomy? Thanks Mary
