Off subject - I know

Hi Doctors:

Please don't lynch me for going way off topic and out of specialty here, but the way I see it is that if a mommy worries too much it is sure to become a health issue - bringing it back to this forum of Women's Health and making it on topic afterall ;-)

I just found out the other day that my 4 year old son will need surgery to have a polyp or two removed from the colon. We have a wonderful Children's Hospital (we're right outside of Washington, D.C.) and the surgeon is fantastic and very informative. Of course, on the drive home my husband and I thought of 101 questions and the surgeon can't be reached again until next week. Here are the main two (don't worry I won't ask all 101.) 1. Does diet have any connection here? Should I increase or decrease anything in the diet? 2. The surgeon told me that this is more common in children than some people realize. But . . . a mommy is a mommy is a mommy! How much sleep is one to lose over this - is it a high risk procedure for a child? Being as my son is also prone to nosebleeds, they are also checking for a bleeding disorder though they tell me it is very doubtful since he has no other symptoms. Up pops another patch of grey hair just the same!

Any input is welcome. I won't post it here anymore, but heading into the weekend I hate to wait until Monday to talk with the surgeon at Children's Hospital.

Thanks in advance!

Holly
