Hi Tami, Here's my experience: I got pregnant 10 weeks after the stillbirth of my son in December. I had NOT gottten a period yet and was beginning to wonder when it would ever come. I started charting my basal body temperatures (waking temps) and trying to chart my cervical mucous (although I never quite got the hang of that) to help me identify when and if I would ovulate. I used a very helpful book called "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler (sp?) to do this. I thought the charting way was a good first step for me to pay attention to my cycles (even though it wasn't quite a "cycle" for me at that point, per se!). I know women who've used ovulation predictor kits instead of or in addition to charting, some of whom have found them helpful. In my situation, though, since I had no idea where I was in any "cycle" or even IF I was ovulating at all, the OV predictor kits seemed way too pricy and kind of hit & miss since I think you have to know what day in your cycle you are to use them most efficiently (ie. to time what days you're going to test). Turns out I did ovulate without having gotten a period and that's when I got pregnant. Who knows if I had actually ovulated before that also -- I wasn't paying any attention before I started charting. I also don't know if I WOULD have gotten a period had I NOT gotten pregnant when I did. Other folks will have to give you their opinions on being pregnant while breastfeeding, but it is possible to ovulate even without a period. Good luck! Noelle
