scared about next pregnancy (a little long)

I'm trying to get preg w/baby #2. I am a carrier of GBS. When I *finally* do get preg, I am scared about what could happen. To sum things up, the doctor wants me induced, and I don't want to be induced.

With my first pg, I started out with progesterone supp's (low level/threat m/c). Hated the supp's but I felt so much better! All fine till the last 2 months when I started having *EXTREMELY* bad cramps. Made it very hard to work (nursing area--CNA) Told the nurse @ one visit, but she didn't take much interest in it, so I thought it was just normal. Didn't say anything to the doc, was under the crazy assumption that the nurse might have told him anything important. Doc made no mention of it.

About one month before my due date the doctor did his first internal exam. He was surprised to find that I was 2cm dilated and 80% effaced. I just left work on leave that week (with those cramps, I couldn't wait to leave!). After I left I had a major decrease and soon nothing in the way of cramps. Also no advancement in the cervix, but I had been put on alert to call him should I go into labor. I guess things would have been fine had anything happened that early. He wasn't concerned and the baby was big enough.

The baby finally came on my due date, but with little warning. I had been awake all night w/nausea, vomiting, diarrhea for just 2-3(?) hours. I couldn't use that as a true sign of labor as the same had happened a few other times during the previous month. Finally after 6:30am I noticed a tiny spec of blood. I knew then it had to be. 8:00 my water broke. Hesitated to call the doc right away (hate to call them at home, ya know, or in transit to work) and called 10-15 minutes later. After 5 min's or so he calls waking up my DH who knew nothing of my situation. Of course DH does typical routine of 20Q's over and over while I yell at him to get dressed! Argue w/him 10 minutes! About 8:40 he is dressed and on the phone w/his sister. He walks over to me (in the bathroom, like any other pg woman) and tells his sister, "I gotta go! I gotta call 9-1-1!" I had know idea that the baby's head was peaking through! By the time the paramedics arrived about 60 seconds later the head was completely out. A few more hillarious moments pass as the panicked EMT's go nuts as the baby was obviously on its way. (It was their third delivery) With one push my girl was delivered @ 8:55am.

Sorry that this is so long, but the reason the doc wants me induced is because I had no labor pains. BTW, my mother told me 5 days too late that she had no labor pains either. I would like to hear other ideas on this. One more thing: I was supposed to travel 40 minutes to the hospital to have the baby. I instead was taken by the EMT's to a local one. There the admitting MD and other staff were the first people to say "induction" for my next baby. Is there some way I can get out of this? I'm not even preg yet (or am I???wait and see) and I am worried about this. Thanks for your help!
