Kristin, I'm not sure from your description just what the problem with your cervix is. Old obstetrical lacerations are quite common and usually cause no symptoms and require no treatment unless they are associated with recurrant pregnancy loss. Cervical eversions are also common and may be associated with an increased vaginal discharge or chronic cervicitis. These are commonly treated with silver nitrate applications or some other form of cautery if they are symptomatic. I'm not aware of lacerations being associated with pain. What is the pain associated with? What is your physician proposing to do with the laser? Sorry I can/t be of more help. I would find out more before proceeding with laser surgery.
