surgical menopause/migrains.From: Joanne (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 14 Jun 1997 14:33:15 -0400
Hi everyone. Have a question? Can surgical menopause trigger migrain headaches? I've never had a migrain before, so really don't know if it truly was one. I had stabbing pains in back of my eyes, bilaterally, and my it felt as if my head was going to explode. I had photophobia along with nausea and some retching. This lasted for 6 hours despite taking two aleeves. The only other trigger that I can think of, is I just started Black Coshosh. I tried to find information on it, but haven't been successful. The only thing the bottle says, it that it's harvested from the appalachian root. Though I experienced no night sweats last night, for the first time, since surgery, but I'd prefer them over the migrain, any day of the week. Do any of you have any idea, what could have sparked the headache? Another thing, when I added the black cohosh, that was in addition to the Evening Primrose Oil I've been using, instead of in place of it. Do any of you know, if that is a safe practice? Thanks.
