Causes of a double-sized ovary ?

Hi Everyone!

I had an abdominal ultrasound yesterday to check for cysts on my ovaries. None were noted but the U/S tech did state that my left ovary was twice the size of my right. All she would say was that the radiologist was going to read the tape and then I would hear from my FP in a day or two.

Question: What would be a possible cause for this?

Yesterday was day 24 of my cycle (a week and a half post-ovulation). The only thing I have noticed recently is a vague tenderness on the lower left side (ever since my OB/GYN palpated the area at my postpoartum checkup in January) that gets sharp for about a week around ovulation every month - regardless of whether the right side also "twinges".

Any ideas would be wonderful. Thanks
