It would be interesting to know what kind rash do you have. Is it urticarial? Not that I recall. It was several years ago, but I do remember it being definitely macular, but I believe papular as well. I never took another dose, and began using benadryl. It went away. Told my then, gyn at my next visit. >

I did have a patient prior to this episode, that also showed a rash on both arms. He was receiving PCN at the time. PCN allergies scare the heck out of me, so to be safe I held the drug and notified the physician. In the past, I usually noted a more diffuse rash, but I wasn't taking any chances. The Derm, that was consulted, agreed that it was most likely the PCN and stopped the drug. Told the patient to consider himself allergic to PCN. Definitely strange, but who knows?

Well, supposedly one of the women who have endo, has been told she is allergic to the leuteinizing hormone and several others report allergies to different hormones as well. Can't recall now, which ones, and how they were tested, I have no idea.

Trust me, I'm not upset at all, if I am allergic to progesterone. Unless of course it were a life and death issue. You see,I am such a wuss when it comes to injections.I give great ones, I'm told, but tense up immediately and get all sweaty, at just the thought of getting one myself, especially those in the hip. Actually worry for days, if I think I might need one. I read one recommended treatment for endo, post hysterectomy, was to stay off estrogen for 6 mos. and have a shot of progesterone, I think it was, every couple of months. I was beside myself, with worry. So possibly being allergic to it, seemed like a godsend. <g> Though in truth, it seems my RE does not treat it this way. Thank the lord! Thanks again, Dr. Propescu, for your time, and your response. Both are very much appreciated.
