Is that story even true >or just rubbish? Roberta, It used to be true, but recent studies in Israel have shown an increased incidence of cancer of the cervix, approaching that of the non Jewish community. Different theories include the possibilty that when Jews were in small towns and ghettos separated from surrounding areas (by politics, bigotry and stupidity), it was unheard of to have multiple sexual partners as may have occurred in the "outside" world. Now, the new found freedom of the latter 20th century has cured the ostracism of the Jewish people but, sadly, increased the incidence of cancer of the cervix.
