abnormal bleedingFrom: Piper (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 17 Apr 1997 10:31:01 -0500 (CDT)
I am a 54 year old woman who had a last normal menstrual period in April 1996. I am not taking any hormones or other medications. In March 1997 I started spotting and continued for 5 days, stopped for one week and then started spotting and flowing for the next 10 days. In a pelvic exam by my doctor she found no abnormalities, and told me I have a hormonal imbalance. Her advice was to eat tofu. I am wondering about the other diagnostic possibilities here and are there any other tests which should be done to rule out or define the diagnosis more precisely.
