formication

Hi. I'm an OB GYN and I have a patient with a problem. I wasn't able to get help from the medical professionals so I thought I'd ask women in general: I have a patient who is perimenopausal and has severe formication (the sensation that bugs are crawling on her). She is otherwise in good health. The dermatologist and neurologment therapy hasn't helped at all, nor has progesterone cream. There are many references to this problem in popular menopause literature but almost nothing in the medical journals. Has anyone reading this suffered a similar symptom, and did any treatment help?
