Terbutaline and Breech BabyFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netFri, 11 Apr 1997 14:48:35 -0400 (EDT)
Hi there...I was informed by Darcy Johnson to e-mail you regarding my concerns...any comments would be extremely helpful and informative. I am 28 weeks pregnant with my second child. I was put on bedrest and terbutaline at 19 weeks due to preterm labor and dialation. I was wondering about the effects of terbutaline and labor. I have heard that since this medication stops preterm birth that most women go over their due dates and eventually need to be induced, therfore causing a long and hard labor. Also, my child is in a breech position at this time...I know that it is still early and that it can flip at any time, but I was wondering if there was anyway I can turn this child around NOW before it gets to big to turn on its own. I had a very easy labor and delivery (vaginally) with my first son and I was hoping that this one would be just as easy if not easier. Any comments or information would be truley appreciated. Yvette
