Theoretically, it is possible to perform preimplantation genetic diagnosis after doing IVF. The 8 cell embryo can be biopsied, and checked to make sure its chromosomes are normal, before transferring it into the uterine cavity. However, if you do not know what genetic tests to perform, this is not a feasible option. After all, one cannot test a single cell for all possible genetic abnormalities ! It is tough going through repeated miscarriages, but the odds are stacked in your favour that you will have a healthy baby, if you keep on trying - all you need is TLC - tender, loving care !
