Technology

I am 32 and my husband is 30 and I have premature ovarian failure due to surgeries I had as a teen. We are considering pursuing adoption or donor egg but I was wondering about the possibility of future options. I know this may sound a bit crazy so let me start by saying that I do NOT want to give birth to my clone. I am hoping that someone will pursue research to examine the viability of using the new technology of cloning to help those of us with premature menopause. Since it is now possible to take the DNA of an organism from a regular cell and inject it into a enucleated donor embryo, it seems that a next logical step would be to take DNA from a combination of sources (i.e., the mother and father) and inject it into an enucleated embryo. I know that this will eventually be an option but I have not heard of anyone pursing this and I am hoping that it will be an option for me. How long does it take for technology to get from the lab to the clinic? For example, how long did it take for ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection) to become available for men? If you know of anyone that is in a position to research the use of DNA transfer please send me their name and email address or forward my address to them. If it will not be available to me, I would at least like to help it become an option for others.
