It is generally accepted that myomectomy at cesarean section is unwise. The uterus is enlarged and highly vascular. Myomectomy is usually associated with significant risk of intraoperative hemorrhage in the absence of pregnancy. At the time of cesarean, the removal of most uterine fibroids would be risky.
