Last spring I felt an irregular mass in my lower right breast . I had fallen and thought (wanted to think) this was a swelling from the fall. It never went away. I finaly had my sister feel it and she knew immediatly it was not normal..My son-in-law is a breast cancer surgeon and immediatly examined it and set me up for a mamogram, sonogram and neddle biopsy. My results were positive for cancer. I had a lumpectomy with no lymp node involvement. On advise of both the surgeon ( my son-in-law) and my oncologist I choose an aggressive form of treatment. I had chemo and radiation, my decision, based on sound medical opinion from two caring physicans highly trained in their fields.

The reason I am sharing this with you is because we are frightened and just want it to go away. The very best thing you can do is see a breast cancer surgeon and let him guide you as they can tell much from an examination.

I'm doing great and feel wonderful. Remember, most lumps are NOT cancer! Check it out, you'll sleep better at night.
