ULTRASOUND: Large follicle and ovulationFrom: LM90 (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 31 Jul 2009 03:07:14 -0500 (CDT)
I had an U/S done on July 29 (A 6wk follow up because of a cyst found on my right ovary) The cyst on the right ovary has resolved itself, but they said I now have one on my left ovary. The follicle (which in reality is considered a cyst) was measuring 50mm in the largest part, and 40mm as the mean. When I was looking at my U/S as the tech was performing it, my right follicle looked to be about half the size as the one on the left. (But I'm not trained to read them, so I'm not very reliable in that aspect) I know that my dominent follicle being 40-50mm is far to large at this point to produce a viable egg, is it possible that two eggs are maturing in the same fillicle and that's why it's so big? Also, is it possible that I may right ovary may still ovulate on or around Aug. 1 like I'm expected to or is there just no hope of concieving this cycle? I also have a polyp on my endometrial lining. Will any of these things cause infertility? FYI I'm not on any fertility treatment.
