CONTRACEPTION: Contraceptive Safety.... HELP!

Hello,

I am a 19 year old college student. I began taking birth control pills (orth tri cyclen) about 3 months ago. I was not sexually active at the time, so it was done as a precaution. However, the pill makes my periods HEAVIER and my body likes being off of them better, so I stopped taking them once summer came around... However, I have since then entered a relationship and I know I will be sexually active on July 8th until July 12th (going to visit my boyfriend). Because I know this, I have begun taking my pills again, but i will only be on the 3rd week of the first pack when I go to see him and I am aware that I am not protected until the second month.

While we intend to use condoms, I have the distinct feeling that some of our intercourse will be unprotected by the nature of it (shower, etc). Because of that, I am planning to use two doses of Plan B in the time period (five days, so I need two...) I would like to know if that is safe to do and if it is especially okay when I am taking my birth control at the same time... I would also love to hear any better ideas... I must lastly note that the last month I regularly took the Pill (may) I was bad about taking it at the same time every day because I had no intentions of having intercourse at the time; Also, that I have no insurance (my pills are bought on a sliding scale through the college) so trying another birth control method is difficult....

Thank you so much!!
