You are asking good questions. If you are a full time student, you may have access to free care thru student health.Since you are 44 ,it could be the start of menopause or a thyroid condition. Medroxyprogesterone is used to bring on your period if you are not pregnant. It would be best to get a pregnancy test before using that .As far as birth control pills, I would not say whether you should take them without a complete history and physicial. Of course ,if you smoke you should not take them.Your sex drive is important and testerone in safe levels can be helpful. Also,if depression is an issue some antidepressants do not lower sex drive.Hormone doses need to be carefully monitored and given to you on a careful watchful timeline.Jo Ann NP
