VAGINALITCHING: Prolonged Vaginal Itching

I am a 36-year-old woman desperate for help--I have had vaginal itching ranging from mild to severe, both internally and externally, for at least 7 months now. I have been treated by a general physician and a gynecologist. Both doctors performed wet mount tests and lab tests and sometimes they find yeast and sometimes they don't. Twice a doctor has found enough bacteria to prescribe Flagyl. I have taken round after round of Diflucan. I have taken 7-day rounds of tercanozole and gyne-lotrimin, and used Mycolog for 10 days. I have used Monistat in the past, but refuse to use it again as it has caused incredible burning. When no yeast was found, the doctor prescribed Clobetasol first, and then hydrocortisone 2.5%. Other than the hydrocortisone, which helps a little bit, nothing has worked to stop the itching. During the first few months, I would just have some flare-ups, but for at least the last 5 to 6 weeks, I've gotten no relief from anything but Vagisil, which a doctor told me to try not to use, as it could be causing vaginal irritation. My most recent lab test checked for any unusual strains of candida, but found none.

I have been diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis and take a low dose of Synthroid for this, and I recently was diagnosed with PCOS and was put on Glucophage--the doctor said that my blood sugar was slightly elevated and could be contributing to chronic yeast infections. The problem is, none of the yeast medication is helping at all! I am at my wit's end--what else could be causing this? What else can I ask a doctor about? What other medications could be used? How on earth can I get this fixed? I can't keep going on like this--the chronic itching is affecting my marriage and every aspect of my life. Please, if anyone has any suggestions or recommendations, I'd be grateful.
