GYNECOLOGIC: Doctors at a loss/ yeast infection symptoms with negative result.From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 19 Mar 2009 11:56:16 -0500 (CDT)
I am unfortunately prone to yeast infections. We are not sure why because I shower daily, I do not douche, no scented tampons, no wearing bathing suits for long periods of time, i wear cotton underwear. It just happens. I know the symptoms and what it feels like to have one and I use gynecazole to clear it up. The doctor gave me refills for whenever I had one. This time I felt it and the medicine didn't clear it up. Since the medicine did nothing I went to the doctors the next day, and she cultured for group B strep, bacteria, and yeast. Also she did a test for a rare type of yeast. The regular yeast test, and the bacteria test came out negative, and the strep B came out positive. So I still have the symptoms such as itching and yucky thick discharge kind of off whitish. Yet they told me strep B had no symptoms and they usually dont treat for it unless your pregnant. Someone please help with any advice you may have I have no idea what this is and its starting to take over my life.
